The Spice Girls are right up there with just about every boyband, American or British, from the 90s, who drastically overestimates how much people miss them.
The boybands assume all of their 90s fans, who are mostly now in their mid-20s, miss them so much that the only way to ease their aching hearts is to re-form and bash out a tour with their old material. The Spice Girls’ delusion in a similar one, but theirs has hand-stitched corsets and Louboutin shoes.
Girl power is alive and well as Mel B confirms there’s another Spice Girls reunion in the pipeline. “We are definitely going to be doing something together again soon,” says Scary Spice. “We’re actually working on it right now. I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but it’s really, really exciting,” the 34-year-old says. “I can’t wait to be singing with the girls again.”Madonna, or someone who looks rather a lot like Madonna, covers the October 2009 issue of Rolling Stone. The vintage photo is in line with the interview, in which she looks back at her career and what inspires her now. In the interview she discusses her divorce, her fashion and her take on music in the charts now.
Madonna is being taken to court, for being a noisy neighbour. The singer is said to be driving her neighbours, of her Central Park West apartment, up the wall.
The appartment was reportedly turned into a makeshift dance studio, and as such, she is making with the loud noises and the shaking walls. A lawsuit was filed at the end of last week, in Manhattan Supreme Court, and all the noise-making could get her evicted.
The group have been on a hiatus since 2002, when Justin Timberlake went supernova and the rest of the band sat around and picked their cracks/ went on Dancing with the Stars. Kirkpatrick has hinted that the band still has a hope of getting back together, and thus helping pay his rent. The poor thing. It must suck so bad to be the band member everyone forgets exists, as soon as the group disbands. The former singer, now 38, yes 38 human years-old, says that if or when the time is right the group could still reform.
Timberlake was pretty quick to rubbish reunion claims shortly after the group parted ways, so it’ll be interesting to see if or when he reacts to this.
Bonnie Timmerman, Hollywood casting director, features in Elle’s Women In Hollywood issue. In the magazine there are some of her early Polaroids of actors/ actresses, at the start of their careers.
The photos (via Jezebel) are pretty amazing, as are the surprisingly gushy notes that go alongside them. The pictures show stars of varying ages, from their pre-teens to early 20’s, when they were doing their first movie roles. The pre-historic Polaroids in poor lighting show the following actors/ actresses and more; Uma Thurman, Laurence Fishburne, Jim Carrey, Adrien Brody, Jessica Alba, Adam Sandler, Halle Berry, Orlando Bloom, George Clooney, Jennifer Connelly, and Scarlett Johansson.
The image of a baby, pre-sessy face, Johansson is my favourite. She looks so cute and fresh, like a good little non-sociopath, non-stage kid. The top left image of Uma Therman is just beyond gorgeous. I’d totally rock that 90s look, glasses and all, right now. Proof, if it were needed, that the 80’s are back.
